Or are we too far gone to return to our senses? A lot of people truly believe that mainstream radio, BET, and underground rappers are good music. If you don't buy the album, the artists should get the picture and try something different.hopefully better. We as fans have the power to change what we listen to. Years later I've learned to leave albums on the shelf and in iTunes if I don't like them. I'd been somewhat dissatisfied in the albums prior to Price of Fame but as a fan I decided to support him anyway. I learned not to waste anymore money on his albums. For example, I was once an avid fan of Bow Wow when he had the 'Lil' in front of his name but after buying Price of Fame and being more than disappointed in what I heard. We as fans have the right to reject what we don't like but because everyone wants to be apart of the "in" crowd, no one will take the step forward and say enough is enough. In addition to good beats, over zealous fans are accepting whatever their favorite artist puts out. Wack artists are getting by because of good DJs and producers. We would soon be bored with over half of today's top artists if the instrumentals were removed and lyrics were all that mattered. The messages in music today are getting more and more redundant. Soulja Boy never had the right delivery on any track but his beats are always good enough to catch an ear. Over time their style and context becomes played out. I'm not going to front as if I've never listened to such artists as Gucci Mane, Soulja Boy, OJ Da Juiceman, Travis Porter, etc instrumentals are like black holes to me and I sometimes get sucked into the bullshit however, I am not afraid to admit that it is garbage. Every track is about chains, clothes, shoes, hoes and haters- verses are becoming predictable. I haven't been able to take a trip to the mixtape sites lately without leaving disappointed.
